For Natalia
Villa La Quiete in Treia tells a tragic love story. Count Lavinio Spada once gave up his career in the Vatican to marry the beautiful Polish Countess Natalia Komar and live here with her. But their happiness was short-lived. After her death, the villa became his retreat of mourning—hence the name "La Quiete" (The Quiet). Today, only weathered inscriptions testify to his longing for oblivion. A monument to a love stronger than the church, but powerless against time.
