Shadow, Held in Bloom is a memorial to a gentle cat who trusted me with his life and, in a very short time, became part of my heart and my family. I bought Shadow a red bell collar to wear after he recovered. Red looked beautiful against his black fur, but he never had the chance to wear it. In this artwork, the collar remains with him—surrounded by flowers and held in the life and beauty I wished for him. After Shadow passed away, an unused vial from his FIP treatment and part of the money reserved for his care were donated to help other cats. 100% of my artist proceeds from this open edition will support vulnerable cats, especially those facing serious illness.
