Usnea
They say the oldest forests remember everything.
Every whispered secret, every forgotten name, every soul that wandered too far.
From their ancient branches hangs Usnea, a lichen known by many names: Old Man’s Beard, Woman’s Long Hair, Immortal’s Hair, Flying Cobweb. Its delicate, silvery strands drape the trees like veils, turning the forest into something almost otherworldly.
And sometimes, beneath those veils, when the light falls just right, the forest reveals a face.
Or perhaps it is only watching you.
