Not for achieving something big, not for being loud about pain, but for just doing what needed to be done. For moving forward with no reward in sight.
It’s a moment where the self splits, the one going through it, tired and unsure, and the one who's already come out the other side, full of love and patience. A sort of self congratulations not from ego, but from survival.
It’s a painting for anyone who kept going. Who reflected in silence. Who sat with themselves when it was uncomfortable. And who somehow knew even with no sign or proof that what they’re fighting for matters. That there’s something on the other side, even if it hasn’t shown up yet.
