Visit the Master
They say every painter eventually visits Mark Rothko. Some arrive with sketchbooks. Some with theories. Some spend years learning every sentence ever written about his work before standing quietly in front of a single canvas, realizing none of it was enough.
One afternoon, a visitor made entirely of steel entered the gallery. It had studied every image of Rothko ever digitized, every essay, every lecture, every color analysis. It stood before the painting for hours without taking a single photograph.
It stood in silence for so long that visitors assumed it had stopped working. No one interrupted. Some lessons cannot be downloaded. Some respect can only be paid in person.
"I wanna Visit the Master by person." it said.
