Wild Atlantic Fury
Sailors through the ages have been awestruck by the sheer natural power of the sea, and no where is this more profound than in the North Atlantic.
Along Ireland's shores in 1588, sailors from the Spanish Armada met their deaths when their ships went on the rocks in foul weather. They were returning home from a failed attempt to invade England.
Some 6,000 sailors on 24 ships perished along the 500 km. stretch of coastline. Most survivors were executed, while some escaped to Scotland.
Captured by drone, this video showcases the beauty and power of the Atlantic Ocean as waves crash over rocks near where this tragic event occurred.
