Study 01
Blindspot started from a simple problem: looking is not the same as seeing.
When I paint, an object often wants to appear. A head, a window, a place. This series is the moment before that name arrives. I don't paint "a blind spot." I paint, then I refuse the name.
The works are physical first: paper, alcohol ink, acrylics, stains, edges. I photograph the painting, often close, and look again. The photograph is the foundation, finished with light refinement. Most of the painting goes unused. What remains is a fragment, a part that only appears if you stay with it.
