A self portrait “After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.” Acts 1:9 This piece captures the moment Christ rose into the heavens, leaving His disciples in awe and wonder. Their raised hands and gazes reflect both reverence and longing a mixture of worship and human emotion at witnessing the divine. By reimagining this sacred event through an African lens, I wanted to bring the story closer to home, reminding us that the Good Book speaks across cultures, time, and place. It is a universal story of hope, faith, and eternal promise
