Omme Xazra Va Allif is a frightening folkloric being from the beliefs of the people of Shadegan in Khuzestan. The name is rooted in the Arabic dialect of Khuzestan. Omme Xazra refers to a green woman, while Allif refers to something covered with leaves and branches. She is described as an old woman with extremely long hair resembling palm branches, covering her body like dense foliage. She is said to hide among the palm groves and kidnap children who wander into them alone. Her story served as a warning to children to stay away from the dark and isolated palm groves.
