GAL / HERCH
Gal, also known as Herch, is a frightening creature from the folklore of Shirvan in North Khorasan. It is
described as a towering humanoid covered in hair, standing more than two meters tall, with unusually
large ears, chest, and feet. Gal is said to appear at night near springs and wells, where it confronts
farmers and gardeners on their way to water their fields. It imitates their movements before slowly
approaching them and attempting to cause harm. According to the local belief, the safest way to
confront Gal is to ignore it completely, as it eventually loses interest and disappears.
