Untold Stories
The story of Blood
In Persian literature, there is a well-known
verse:
"From the blood of the nation's youth, tulips have blossomed."
This line became the soul of the painting. Within the composition, the fallen are
reborn as tulips, silent, radiant witnesses
of sacrifice, while those who came before
them wait to welcome them into an eternal field of remembrance.
The flowers portrayed in the painting are
traditional Persian blooms known as "Laleh Abbasi." The word "Laleh" itself means tulip, a symbol long associated with martyrdom, love, and enduring memory.
