Antlers and Grins
The windshield shivers, iced breath hanging still,
Antlers nailed to a sleigh with no magic.
Three faces carved in half-light—
Smiles, jagged as snowbanks.
Eyes fixed on roads no one paved,
They drive on laughter alone,
Steam rising from mouths,
The silence deeper than frost.
The engine groans beneath the weight,
Of boys playing saints in a rusted ark.
Inside, the heat hums like a funeral hymn—
Outside, the world fades white.
