Mannequin Winter
Eyes lit, vacant glow,
The wreath spins—plastic cheer.
A man, or the memory of one,
Wrapped in vinyl silence.
The wheel turns, the frost speaks,
Breathless roads stretch into nothing.
No heart to break,
No pulse to betray him.
Outside, the snow gathers,
Soft as false smiles—
A season that never knew
The weight of what it promised.
