Liminal
Again and again,
I embraced the branches,
until I no longer knew
which knots belonged to the tree
and which belonged to me.
I hung between earth and sky,
with roots that held me
and a longing for flight
that would not rest.
Will I sink into the soil
or settle upon a cloud?
I am still inbetween,
All I have lived through
lives on within me;
even the branch I let go of
continues to grow
in the lines of my hands.
