The Wayfarer's Ticker
The Weight of Memory
For this Wayfarer, the past has calcified. He does not drag his Ticker behind him; he wears it as a permanent extension of his spine. The upper arteries have turned to grey stone—memories that are dead but impossible to shed—while the lower chamber remains yellow and porous, still absorbing the dust of the wasteland. He leans forward, fighting the gravity of his own history. His story is one of inseparable burden; he cannot outrun his past because it is the very thing that keeps him upright.
