The Other Side
«And the boundary between two worlds cracked,
and your reflection remained on the other side, forever.»
In this concept, you are the main element of the painting.
Look closer and you’ll see that the crack in the mirror and the split on the canvas are identical. And that’s no coincidence: the canvas itself is the mirror hanging on the wall. And that reflection in the mirror belongs to you.
"Why is she so terrified if I’m looking so good?" you might ask.
Well, imagine getting ready for bed, brushing your teeth, when suddenly the mirror cracks, showing the outline of a figure. You turn around and see a complete stranger standing there who shouldn't be in your room. So don't be surprised by the look in her eyes — a rift between worlds and the collision of two realities doesn't happen every day😀
I didn't want to create just a painting, but an interactive trap canvas where everyone who looks at it stays here forever.
Funny how it works — you came to look at a painting, but now the painting is looking back at you from the inside.
By the way... I might just be the first artist who managed to paint a portrait of you without ever meeting you😜
