Spotlights

This piece was born from imagining a group of artists friends, and art lovers, each one shining with their own light and standing out through a unique color and a distinct presence. The interactive code becomes a playful system where individuality appears, disappears, and reemerges in unexpected ways. The work is live and responsive, constantly adapting to any screen and space where it is displayed. Its structure shifts with the environment, allowing each viewing experience to feel slightly different. It functions as a game, but also as a celebration, a space to experience joy, spontaneity, and shared energy. Through interaction, the viewer becomes part of a living constellation of forms, where color, movement, and chance create moments of connection and delight. Embedded within the system is a hidden reset trigger that can restart the entire composition without warning. Participants engage with the piece while unknowingly navigating this invisible condition, turning the experience into a subtle challenge. The goal of the game is to explore and interact for as long as possible without activating the reset. The longer a participant lasts, the better they perform within the work’s playful logic. Go full screen and have fun! #MiRetratito #MiRetratitoArt Note: @MiRetratito first studied computer science in 1998. Since then, design and artistic-commercial programming have been part of her environment and career, especially on the web. In 2025, she returned to exploring coding languages with a focus purely on art, developing a personal approach through a process that combines her own programming with AI-assisted collaboration. This work is the result of a slow two-month development process and will likely continue to evolve.
