Mirror 404 engages directly with the limitations of Computer Vision, revealing its blind spots through 3D scans of mirrors in natural environments. These artworks show that our oldest technology for self-perception (the mirror) is invisible to our newest: the computer. For millennia, mirrors have helped us see ourselves and understand how others perceive us. But machine vision cannot process reflections, and so the mirror becomes a reminder of what artificial vision cannot grasp. Some forms of seeing remain uniquely our own.
