This piece is an interactive digital environment where a person throws a ball and a group of dachshunds run to fetch it. The scene includes trees, flowers, clouds, and butterflies that move throughout the space, creating a lively outdoor setting. When the viewer clicks or taps the screen, the ball is thrown and the dogs chase it, creating a playful animation. The goal of the project was to create a lighthearted, animated world that feels dynamic and fun. Medium: Generative digital artwork created using creative coding. The code was generated with the help of ChatGPT, then implemented and run using Juno with p5.js (JavaScript) in a 3D WebGL environment. Artist Bio: Abigail Vu is a first-year nursing student at UCLA. Although her academic focus is healthcare, she is interested in exploring creativity through technology. In this class, she experimented with generative art and creative coding for the first time. Her work reflects a playful exploration of digital environments and interactive design. Artist Statement: For this project, I wanted to create something playful and relaxing rather than something overly serious. As a nursing student, most of my coursework is focused on science and healthcare, so this class gave me a chance to explore creativity in a completely different way. Using generative coding tools and AI assistance, I built a small animated world where dogs run around a park chasing a ball. I liked the idea of creating a simple moment of joy, similar to watching dogs play outside. The movement of the animals, butterflies, and clouds helps make the environment feel alive. This project also made me think about how technology and creativity can work together. Even though I am not a computer science major, using AI tools and coding platforms made it possible for me to experiment with digital art in a way that felt accessible and fun.
