They tell you not to stand out, then watch your every move anyway. For a long time, I tried to make myself smaller. Quieter. Easier to understand. But no matter what I did, someone always had an opinion. Eventually I realized something. People will watch whether you shine or hide. So I’d rather be remembered for being myself than for fitting into someone else’s expectations.
