Becomings

Becomings by Mikko Lyytinen Becomings is a collection of works that live in time on the blockchain. They may stay as rough sketches and doodles or they may continue to grow and evolve into developed works or beyond. There is no pressure or promise of being finished. They are just becoming. As an artist and human being my interests are wide and constantly evolving. In my practice I tend to drift comfortably between different disciplines inside traditional and digital art. From painting to printmaking, digital drawing, animation and video. Collaborations and personal works, public and private art. In my approach exploring, recognizing and preserving the specific nature of each medium and material as integral part of my expression is important, as is my own will and physical being – all that which is my nature. Themes of chaos, change and growth flow as undercurrents through most of my work. Experience of nature and relationship with it is the guiding force behind my thinking. The digital realm as experience is as real as the natural world and it affects us in real ways, which we can not be fully aware of, but we can certainly feel it deeply.
