Built in 1892, the Ex Manicomio di Genova Quarto was designed with monumental and cold precision. The strict Neoclassical architecture, laid out like a Roman military camp, was intended to impose absolute order on its patients. Following the Italian Basaglia Law in 1978, the gradual closure of this massive psychiatric hospital began, ultimately leaving the complex abandoned by 1999
