Scorched Earth
Scorched Earth is a series of abstract aerial photographs captured close to my home, on the edge of the Australian outback.
The red and orange forms are the region’s natural red loam, pushed through colour and contrast against the darker tones of the surrounding land. From above, these patterns begin to resemble molten flows, fractured crust and cooling lava.
The series takes something familiar to the outback and transforms it into something more elemental, reflecting the heat, dryness and fiery character of the Australian landscape.
