Portrait of the Forefather
An old artist is drawn twice: once as he is, and once stretched toward the stars that hang above his head. Rendered in graphite and pastel on a squared-up working sheet, this piece pays tribute to Austin Osman Spare's Siderealism: the late portraits he stretched to show his sitters as seen from the stars. Part of the Austin Spare Legacy collection.
