LUPOTIGRIS
lupus - wolf, + tigris - tiger The wolf's danger has always been a danger of numbers. It's the thing at the tree line, understood less as a single animal than as a voice that calls the rest of the pack toward it. A wolf alone is still, in its instincts, announcing a location. To howl is to summon: kin, moon, trouble, whatever answers. The tiger knows no such arithmetic. Striped, solar, built for solitude in a way the wolf never was. A tiger doesn't call because nothing is coming, and nothing needs to. Lupotigris keeps the wolf's throat and wears the tiger's coat: head thrown back, jaw wide in a howl shaped for calling an answer home, set on a body that has never once needed backup. It calls anyway. Under a black, star scattered sky with no pack in sight and no cry coming back, it howls from pure instinct, into a silence only something built to survive alone could stand to sit inside. The white flower behind its ear breaks from the roses worn elsewhere in this line. It's closer to a magnolia, a bloom that opens before it grows the leaves to protect it, all exposure and no armor. The pearls sit where they always do, loose at a throat strong enough to tear through them without noticing.
