The conversation around holding presence isn’t always an external one. It isn’t always about the spaces we hold for other people nor the ones they hold for us. The stories in this practice isn’t always about the ones we tell others or the ones they share with us. It is also about the spaces within us, when we’re still learning to listen to ourselves in parts, when we’re still understanding how to hold, love and cherish ourselves even while we’re not yet in the wholeness we aspire for. This part of the body of work created in conversation with Yaya is a call to inward reckoning, it is a poetic confrontation of the silence within ourselves.
