Aquarium of Isolation
The bubble can be a prison, or it can be a refuge
A place where we shrink ourselves, suffocating in still water while the ocean of life crashes just beyond reach. We convince ourselves that freedom is impossible, that joy belongs elsewhere. Depression thrives in this illusion, a tiny world that feels unbreakable.
Yet outside the bubble, the ocean is not always gentle. It is vast, unpredictable, and at times cruel. The bubble becomes not only confinement, but protection, a fragile shield against a world that overwhelms.
It is a paradox: the same walls that keep us safe also keep us from truly living. To break free is to risk pain, but also to discover meaning, beauty, and connection. To stay inside is to endure silence, but sometimes silence feels easier.
We are both prisoners and survivors in the bubbles we create. The choice is not simple, but it is ours.
