Pines Are Always Alive In this painting, I have portrayed a forest of pine trees—trees that remain green and alive throughout the seasons. For me, they represent continuity, resilience, and the strength to keep living. Yet, within this evergreen forest, a swamp has formed. This swamp is not merely a part of nature; it is a metaphor for despair, fear, exhaustion, and those periods in life when we feel trapped and unable to find a way forward. Nature has always been a way for me to express my inner world. In my work, I try to translate emotions that cannot always be expressed through words into color, light, water, trees, and flowers. Despite the darkness and heaviness of the swamp, life continues. Three water lilies have emerged from the depths. For me, they are symbols of hope, growth, rebirth, and resilience—something that rises from difficult circumstances and reaches toward the light. I often think that hope becomes most meaningful when it exists in the darkest moments. Sometimes, we have to move through darkness before we can truly see the light. That is why the light in my paintings is not simply sunlight; it is also the inner light within us, the light that can remain alive even through the hardest periods of life. In this painting, the swamp is not the end. It can be the beginning of transformation. The three small lilies growing in the middle of this vast, heavy landscape remind me that even from despair, we can grow again, take root, and move toward the light. This painting is part of my “Connection from the Swamp” series, where I see nature as a mirror of human experience. For me, the swamp is not only a symbol of being trapped; it is also a place where we can transform, be reborn, and discover a new meaning in life.
