Blue Flamingos

From as long as I can remember, I have always been deeply drawn to flamingos. When I learned that flamingos are at risk of extinction due to human impact—especially the destruction of their natural habitats—I felt a responsibility as an artist to respond in my own way. For me, flamingos are not merely birds; they are symbols of a human presence on the verge of being forgotten—delicate beings standing in the silence of swamps, suspended between life and disappearance. In these works, the swamp is not just a habitat, but a metaphor for the contemporary world—where beauty still exists, yet slowly fades beneath layers of threat and erosion. Within this space, flamingos stand with quiet dignity—sometimes alone, sometimes in groups, but always at the fragile boundary between existence and absence. This series seeks to create a moment of pause, inviting the viewer to reflect on the vulnerability of nature and its deep connection to human destiny. Colors, textures, and the atmosphere of the swamp all contribute to a sense of suspension and a bittersweet beauty—one that is quietly vanishing. This painting is an oil on canvas work, created in the size of 30 × 40 cm.
