Trips to the FARMS
<^Waves of the Forgotten^>
(Waves of the Forgotten)
I drove out to this farm in the middle of the desert because the barn looked forgotten from the road. The heat was unreal that day. The ground was throwing waves into the air so heavy that everything looked like it was melting into itself. I grabbed my camera and started taking photos while the sun burned down over the field.
As I looked through the lens, I noticed this strange shape moving through the heat waves near the side of the barn. It was not solid and it was not clear, but it felt human for just a second before it disappeared back into the distortion. I kept trying to capture it because every time the heat rolled off the dirt, it looked like a spirit was still standing there trapped in the air. The whole place felt haunted by the desert itself, like the heat was holding onto souls that never left the land.
I still remember how hard I tried to photograph that wave because deep down I knew I was not just looking at heat rising off the ground.
