Water Portals
Water Portals 072
Part existence and part departure, a sculptural portal rises from the shoreline of the Chilean coast, suspended between land, water, and reflection. Extending above and beneath the sand, the black geometric form evokes a threshold into an unknown space beyond the visible world. The structure suggests passage, disappearance, and transformation. Created as part of the Water Portals series, the work continues an exploration of transcendence and humanity's search for spaces beyond consciousness and time.
The work originates from a physically constructed sculpture, hand-built using recycled materials including wood, metal, and paint. Installed within the coastline, the form was photographed in natural conditions, working with changing light, tides, reflections, and atmosphere in search of the right relationship between geometry, space, and the natural elements.
