Tonight I Run the bowls in a virtual world because someone finally invented a suit that lets you skateboard in VR without fear of falling. No fear of hurting my broken back. No fear at all. I step on the board and start to ride, and I feel every movement, every vibration, every wave in the pavement that runs through the city. It feels so real that I almost forget what happened to me. For a moment, I can be myself again, the way I used to be on the board. Calm. Free. At peace. Then the stupid alarm goes off and I realize it was all just a dream. I lay there mad wishing for someone to build that suit for real so I could plug into the system and skate my ass off and feel truly feel like me again. "Build the suit and let me be me again."
