Where the light doesn't reflect. It waits.
Where the lilies don't float they glow from underneath,
like something buried is still breathing.
Monet painted water as peace.
This artist asks: what if the water was never peaceful to begin with?
What if something always stood above it,
watching winged, faceless, ancient
while we only ever looked down at the surface?
The temple in the distance is already ruined.
The figure doesn't cause the darkness.
It simply arrived after the beauty did
