Portraits
I'll Be Seeing You
Recently I was thinking about why I enjoy drawing front facing portraits so much.
I realised that the reason I love them is that I feel like it forms a relationship between the you and the artwork.
Generally, being the viewer of an artwork is you entering another world. You examine a scene, a person... a time. You get caught up in the mood and colours and leave your world behind for a moment. Art is magical this way. Music, movies, writing and art absolutely transport us and make us forget who we are and our individual lives for a time.
But what happens when the art is watching you back?
So here we are. Two people examining each other.
It's nice to meet you.
