Iconic Human Weeble Wobble video of me riding my sculpture in 2017 in Bushwick, Brooklyn and hilariously getting hit by a school bus. I first made the Weeble in April of 1995 for a night of performances called The Deviant Playground in NYC. To the best of my knowledge I was the first to take the physics of the toy and innovate into human scale. This Weeble was the 3rd I made since '95. In 2016 a shared video of me riding the sculpture on north first street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (in the fall of 2001) and being that the sculpture had not been on the internet before- the clip went mega viral all over the planet. Since then, the idea has been copied all over the place in many different countries and forms. My idea for the Weeble is that it should be an interactive toy for the audience to ride at an event or exhibition, breaking down the fourth wall and creating its own governance amongst the people. I am deploying the token so that everyone can affordably own the video and so that I can provenance my original authorship of the sculpture. I think also the Weeble is a diagram of the bipolar nature of Crypto- we must all learn to ride the accelerating ups and downs. Video shot by Anna Yatskevich.
