Great Grey Chosen Moment

The Great Grey Owl is one of the largest owls in the world by length — and one of the most striking. Where They Live Northern forests of Canada Alaska Northern U.S. states (Minnesota, Montana, Idaho, etc.) Across Scandinavia and Siberia They prefer dense conifer forests with nearby open meadows for hunting. Unlike some owls, they aren’t very vocal outside of breeding season. They also fly almost silently due to specialized feather edges. They’re hard to spot. Seeing one often feels like you were “chosen” by the moment. Backstory time. This image was taken in the thick forest of Wyoming. On a cool evening of Tetons National Park I seen Bears just before I went out into the forest for this image. Great Grey Owls are called the Ghost of the North for a reason. They are one owl most humans will not see in their entire lifetime. Owls chose to see us. We are not hunting for them. If they want to be seen it is up to their energy. Back to this location. Near Jennie Lake on the upper ridgeline. Yes hear bear footsteps. And yes this wasn't the best idea. But I went with my gut. One of which was to try capturing this moment. Chosen Moment is when nature chooses us! I am beyond thrilled to offer this in editions for all artist to own. This is the Largest Owl of all species. Rarity is extreme! The Great Grey is known to bring longevity prosperity and good energy to all of which see them. I consider this gift by nature itself one that is instilled in me forever. Detail

This was my only encounter with this Owl in my entire Lifetime. After years of searching up and down the Northern States. I followed sightings by so many friends and never seen this Owl again. The chosen moment happened twice on this day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Went back to this area for over a week without any sign of this mysterious Owl. The Chosen Moment was a lot to process as I thought it was my mother from heaven sending me a message. Maybe one of chosen to keep thriving ahead and to not look back. Life is truly how we live for today and evolve with time and wisdom. Thank you! JMVArt
