A maximalist vision born from photography and unraveled by glitch. What began as an image fractured into moving layers of noise and distortion until it became less a picture and more a living cathedral of signal breakdown. To preserve its identity, the video was introverted into a looping GIF — my first ever minted GIF — a compressed shrine to glitch art, where collapse becomes rhythm and error becomes design.
Story / Concept
This piece began as a still photograph, a frozen frame of memory. But like memory itself, it refused to remain stable. Through the maximalist lens, it became dense, layered, and overflowing with textures and light. Then came the glitch — an interruption, a collapse of order. Instead of annihilating the image, the glitch reassembled it into a pulsing monument of errors, a cathedral of fractured light. The process didn’t stop with video. To maintain its raw glitch aesthetic, the work was introverted into a GIF file: compressed, looping endlessly, imperfect yet eternal. This decision was more than technical — it was symbolic. By minting it as my first ever GIF, the piece carries the weight of an origin moment, where the glitch itself dictated the medium. It is a meditation on transformation through instability — how beauty survives collapse, how meaning flickers most vividly in distortion, and how a broken file can sometimes carry more truth than a perfect one.
