⟪ CONSTELLATIONS ⟫ · BRUTAL A constellation is not an object. It is a relation between points that have nothing to do with one another, held together only by whoever is looking. The ancients looked at chance and saw heroes and animals in it. Here the points are clusters of industrial matter. Bottles, tubing, blister packs, mesh, shells, cables, waste — the stuff we produce and throw away. Suspended in the black, struck by sources that cross the scene, until it stops being garbage and starts reading as a celestial body. The same operation the ancients performed, done on trash. A thousand works, each one a self-contained generative engine. No recorded images, no external assets, no footage: every frame is computed by the code as you watch it, with physical lighting on the relief of the materials — metals, glass, plastics, fluorescents — and a closed 22-second loop that starts again without a seam. Every work is unrepeatable and declared in its traits: the palette, how many bodies remain in the scene, the chroma, how many sources cross it, how much it moves, the shape of the cluster, its density. Three hundred and forty-six are achromatic — white and silver on black. One hundred and sixty-one have no sphere at all: only the light arriving from off-frame and its reverberation on the bodies. 1000 unique works.
