An echo of you

Memory is imperfect. It fails and fades. It files away the precise and saves the tender - how a room felt, the tilt of a smile, the sense that you were there. An Echo of You lives in that soft interval where the facts fade, but the feeling remains.

Process

An Echo of You returns to a single photograph and lets its signal speak. In FluxLab, my custom p5.js studio, I shape per-pixel behaviour across a live grid: a luminance-driven Melt Threshold lets bright passages flow and re-order, while selected regions take on gentle sweeps and glitches. The result is a portrait that remains legible even as it drifts-an echo formed from channel persistence, alignment errors, and small algorithmic decisions. This is hand-directed, region-aware pixel motion and manipulation.
